1. Listening and speaking: Good morning! / Good afternoon! This is ... Nice to meet you. / Nice to meet you, too. Let's go to school. Use modelled phrases to communicate with other learners.

 

2. Words: head, eye, face, ear, nose, mouth, finger, hand, body, leg, arm, foot. Introduce these parts of one's own body.

2. Preparation

 

(1) Headgears of Chen Jie, Mike, Wu Yifan, Sarah, zip and Zoom.

 

(2) Headgears of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Snoopy.

 

(3) An apple with eyes, ears, nose and mouth on.

 

(4) A tape, a ball, and a picture of school.

 

3. Teaching steps

 

(1) Warm-up / Revision

Sing the song "Hello".

The teacher and students greet each other.

Act out the dialogue of "Let's talk", Unit 1.

 

(2) Presentation

Draw a rising sun.

--- T: Good morning. --- Ss: Good morning, Miss Liu.

(T: Good morning. I'm Miss Liu. What's your name? S: My name's ...)

T: Nice to meet you.

Imitate: Nice to meet you.

Invite one student to perform with me.

T: Good morning. What's your name?

S1: My name's ...

T: Nice to meet you.

(To class) This is ... I'm going to school. Let's go to school.

T: (carrying a bag) Let's go to school.

S: OK.

The students imitate "Let's go to school."

Listen to the recording and repeat.

 

(3) Practice

a. (wearing the headgear of apple)

T: Good morning. What's your name?

S1: My name's Miss / Mr. Apple.

T: Nice to meet you.

(T and S exchange the roles)

b. Work in pairs: One wears the headgear of Chen Jie, Mike, Wu Yifan, Sarah, Zip or Zoom. The other says: This is ...

Ss: Nice to meet you.

c. Passing the ball one by one.

S1: Let's go to school. S2: OK. Let's go to school. S3: OK. Let's go to school. S4: ...

d. Introduce Snoopy, Minnie, Mickey, Donald by "This is ... "

Ss: Hello! Nice to meet you.
