Step 1:warming-up

1. T: Good morning, boys and girls.

Ss: Good morning, Miss Tu.

T: How are you, today?

S1: I’m well, thank you.

S2: I’m fine, thank you.

T: How about you? (If Ss no response, tell them it has same meaning of the expression: How are you?)

S3: I’m good, thank you. And you?

T: I’m happy. Because I have a present.

 

Step 2:  presentation

1.     T: Look, that’s my new bike.

1)    T shows a picture of bike: b-b-bike.

2)    Ss read after t many times.

3)    Read in loud voice and quiet voice.

4)    Say the chant: bike bike that’s my new bike. (T writes down the word on the bb)

5)    T: Is that a bike?

Ss: Yes, it is.

2.     T: makes the sounds: Di Di Di Da Da Da. What is coming?

T: Oh, it’s a bus.

1)    T shows a picture of bus: b-b-bus.

2)    Read in up stairs and down stairs.

3)    Say the chant: bus bus that’s my new bus. (T writes down the word on the bb)

4)    T: Is that a bus? Ss: Yes, it is.

3.     T: what’s that? Is that a car?

Ss: Yes, it is.

T: It’s a car.

1)    read the word: train train go go go.

2)    Say the chant: Car car that’s my new car. (T writes down the word on the bb)

3)    T: Is that a car? Ss: Yes, it is.

4.     T: Is that a car?

Ss: No.

T : It’s..

Ss: It’s a taxi.

1)    T shows a picture of taxi: t-t-taxi.  

2)    Read together.                    (T writes down the word on the bb)

3)    T: Is that a taxi? Ss: Yes, it is.

 

Step 3 practice.

1.     Open the books and read after the tape recorder together.

2.     read the together, read in pairs.

3.     Play missing game.

4.     Put the words in the right place.

Step 4: Conclusion

 Evaluate students’ performance and give homework.

Step 5: Homework:  Review Part B of this unit.

Step 6: Writing design.

Postscript

When reading the words, Ss should look at my mouth. One student read the word “car” as the word “cow” Other Ss can read very well. And they can distinguish car from taxi. Ss enable to catch the question, and they can answer the question in two ways. The way to describe the vehicle and say it out is a good method to help Ss to review the words. 2. Make sure Ss enable to give the negative answer: No, it isn’t. And pay attention not answered: No, it is.

Step1 Review

Play the guessing game: show the words card, Ss reading and T asks them: what’s missing? T hangs the picture cards on the blackboard.

 

Step2 presentation

1.1)T asks them one by one: Is that a car? (far from the blackboard)

Ss: Yes, it is.

If not, T helps them to say: No it isn’t. (write down on the blackboard)

Practice the four words in the same way.

2) Magic eyes.

Show the picture and cover it with a piece of paper which with a hole on it. Students guess: Is that a bus?

S1: yes, it is.

T: Let’s see. Yes, you are right.

T: Is that a taxi?

S2: No, it isn’t. It’s a car.

2.

1) T point and ask: point the thing near me: This is a pencil, Is this a pencil?

Ss: Yes, it is.

2) That is a pencil, is that a pencil box? (far from me)

Ss: No, it isn’t.

T does the model for the Ss, and let Ss say out the difference between the two sentences.

3) T stands as the same direction of the Ss and T points to the thing far distance from them and let Ss to say: Is that a taxi? Is that a car?

And T even asks the thing near them to say the sentence: Is this a…?

4) Ss ask teacher freely. (Is that…  Is this…)

5) Ss work in pairs.

Step 3 Practice

1.     Open the books and read after the tape recorder.

2.     read after teacher.

3.     read by themselves.

Step 4: Consolidation

1) guessing game.

1) T: It’s very big, and it’s cheap. Sometimes it’s 1yuan a person. Sometimes it’s 2 yuan.

Ss: Is that a bus?

T: yes, it is.

2) PP shows some parts of puzzles, and Ss work in pairs.

S1: Is that a …?

S2: Yes, it is.

Step 5: Conclusion

 Guessing game may help them to enhance their listening ability. Ss feel proud when they get the key. The negative answer “No it isn’t.” Is not so difficult for them. But someone say “No, its isn’t.” When the Ss ask, their first response is “Is this a …?” Although they know the difference between this and that. They need do more practice .

2) passing game: sing the song “my nice ruler” the one who hold the thing, should ask: Is that a…? others: Yes, it is. No, it isn’t.

3) review the words: guessing game.

T: yes, it is.

2) T: It’s small. And Chinese people usually use it popularly, and it has two wheels, it’s convenient to use.

Step 2: presentation. Part C Look and read.

1. Teach the letter Ii

(1) T presents the picture of “bike” and says: What’s this? Ss followed: It’s a bike.

 T: Yes, it’s a bike. Ss read after teacher.

T writes down on the blackboard. And use the red chalk write the vowel of the word.

(2) Can you tell me the pronunciation of the letter in the word?

Ss give the different answers and teacher praise the Ss who answer right.

(3) T: Yes. T reads the letter and Ss listen to I for times.

(4) Read in their different way: up the stairs and down stairs.

(5) Distinguish the capital letter and small letter, require Ss to say out : What’s the letter I/i looks like?

(6) Try to find the letter Ii on the book from Page 22-23. Have a competition: How many “I” can you see?

 

2. Teach the letter Jj

(1) T writes down some words which begin with letter J. For example: jeep  jacket  Jim  jam  jump

(2) Ask Ss tell teacher what the same letter is: J j

(3) T writes down the letter: J j

(4) T reads the letter for several times. Ss read after T in different way: loud voice and low voice.

(5) Distinguish the capital letter and the small letter. What the shape of the letter looks like.

 

3.teach the letter Kk

(1) T writes down on the Bb, and ask: Is this “J”. Ss say: No, it’s K.

(2) Point out the capital letter and small letter looks alike. And try to remember which letter has the same trait with the letter Kk. Ss may say: Cc

(3) Read the letter Kk in different ways.

(4) teach the word kite. Let them know the letter’s pronunciation in the word.

4. Ss open the books and read after the tape recorder.

5.Ss read the letters and the word by themselves.

Step 3 practice.

T writes down the letter we have learnt in last unit: Aa Bb Cc Dd Ee Ff Gg Hh Ii Jj Kk

(1) Require Ss read them together.

(2) Play a game(quick response) : T says A, Ss say B, T says C, Ss say D… Then exchange.

(3) read the letters in random.

(4) Train train go go go: have the competition.

Step 4  Homework

Oral practice: Listen to the tape and read the dialogue, the words and the letters.

  We had the spring outing On Friday. When I teach the word “kite” I describe the scene, and do the action. Ss guess it out at once. So teach in our familiar atmosphere can help Ss to understand well. Now some Ss know the pronunciation of the letters, and they begin to know their reading. Some Ss even enable to spell a word, while look at the word. They’ve got the great progress.
